During fire safety week, the Kinmundy-Alma fire department visited the kindergarten classes. Firefighters showed the students all the parts of a fire truck, the tools they use, and what a firefighter has to wear. The students were able to spray the water hose and even sit in the truck. Students received a goodie bag and their own fire helmet. We want to thank firefighter Jeff Lange and Jim Westjohn for the great experience!
On our School Improvement Day on Oct. 11, the SCE staff attending meetings and trainings. We discussed state testing, goals for this year, math curriculum, and Mr. Alex gave a training on the new Rock Wall that was purchased from PE fundraisers the students have participated in the past few years!
Elementary Fall Picture Day is Wednesday, Oct. 23!!!
South Central Elementary had 88 students with Perfect Attendance in August and September! Congratulations to Mia Norman, the Grand Prize Winner for Perfect Attendance for August and September!
At the end of each month, students with perfect attendance will be recognized during morning announcements. Each student will receive a Perfect Attendance Backpack clip! The students' names with perfect attendance are then entered in a drawing to win a grand prize! We hope everyone works hard to be at school every day!

South Central Pre-K had a fun field trip to Ballard Nature Center last Friday, despite the rain. They were able to explore the displays and exhibits, bird watch, and play in the kid's area.

Mrs. Lotz’s 2nd Grade class had fun eating apples with caramel and making Johnny Appleseed crafts!
Mrs. Kramer's Kindergarten class had a lot of apple fun with apple taste testing, Johnny Appleseed hats, and making apple crisp!!!
