
The Book Fair is here! SCMS Book Fair is April 24th-28th!!


The 2nd grade students in Mrs. Guy's and Mrs. Twyla's reading group performed a Reader's Theater entitled "The Three Billy Goat Gruff!"











We had some great "Fruity" WOW lunch helpers this week! The did a great job helping serve watermelon and bananas this week!




We are so proud of our South Central Elementary students!!! The students were asked to participate in an Earth Day Coloring/Poster contest. The students did an amazing job! The amount of details, information about saving the Earth, effort, and neatness was exceptional from all Kindergarten through 5th grade! Each classroom had a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winner! We are so happy for our winning students but also all the students who participated! Thank you students for giving it your "BEST" on this project!!!

The SCMS track meet at Cisne today has been canceled due to weather.

Lady Cougars picked up a win on the road at Ramsey 17-1 and improve their record to 13-5

SCMS and SCHS Awards Night
SCMS sports awards are on May 3rd at 5:30 pm.
SCHS scholastic awards and sports awards are on May 9th. Scholastic awards are at 6:00 pm and sports awards are at 7:00 pm

On May 4th baseball will now play St. Anthony at home at 7:00 pm

Congratulations to this years top performing 7th grade students! They will be our ushers at the SCMS 8th grade graduation ceremony on May 16th!

South Central High School will be hosting a KC parent/student night on April 25 at 6 p.m. in the High School cafeteria. Kaskaskia College will be discussing the Career Pathways program, KC Now and the AIM program. This is beneficial for any students who are interested in course planning for college, taking reduced or FREE dual credit classes (including trade school) and hands on learning experience in regards to manufacturing opportunities. We highly encourage all parents and students of all incoming freshman through juniors to attend this event. Please RSVP to the high school @ 618-245-2222. Again, we encourage all parents to come and gain more knowledge in this area for the future of their students.

Mrs. Lother’s class finished reading “The Last Great Adventure of the PB&J Society.” They held a funeral for a smushed pb&j sandwich just like in the book!!! 😂
