Miss Blomberg's Kindergarten Class was so proud their Christmas Trees made out of an ice cream cone, icing, and candy!!!





Good afternoon!! Starting tomorrow(Dec. 13th), parent drop off at SCMS will return to its original drop off location on the south side of the parking lot beginning at 7:40am.
If your student is not eating breakfast, they will report to the main gym. If your student will be eating breakfast they will go in the south west set of doors to enter to the cafeteria. We will have staff in place to guide everyone through this time of transition.

We had a great turnout for "Breakfast with Santa" at the elementary school! A big "Thank You" to the South Central PTO for providing this opportunity for our community!











At South Central Elementary, we work every day to help the students develop a love of reading! It was Read Aloud Day in K-2nd Grade! Mrs. Guy and Mrs. Twyla love Christmas and they love moose! They shared the book "Merry Moosey Christmas" by Lynn Plourde! They sang "Jingle Bells" and each student received a Christmas moose to remind them of our story! It's hard to say who has more fun with Read Alouds, the kiddos or Mrs. Guy and Mrs. Twyla! We wish you all a "Merry Moosey Christmas!"









We closed out the month of November at South Central Elementary with our Responsible WOW Students and WOW Day playing Musical Chairs and eating candy canes!!!




Cougars basketball game tonight at 6:00 pm at Mulberry Grove will be broadcast on the NFHS Network.

Mrs. Thomason's 4th graders enjoyed their feast! They had delicious turkey legs!










REMINDER: All South Central schools will be dismissing today at 2 PM for Thanksgiving break. There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

The K-2nd Grade Enrichment students in Mrs. Guy and Mrs. Twyla's class learned a lot of fun interesting facts about cranberries! Cranberries have 4 hollow air chambers that allow them to float. They were challenged to create a "cranberry raft" that would not sink and support weight! Great job, kids!!!











After reading the book, "Balloons Over Broadway," Mrs. Thomason's 4th Grade class had their own Thanksgiving Day Parade! They paraded the K - 5th grade classrooms! "Balloons Over Broadway" is the story of Tony Sarg,
the master puppeteer who invented the first balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.








South Central Elementary School picture retakes are scheduled for Thursday, November 30th. Please call the SCE office next week if your student needs retakes. All new students that enrolled after the date of October 11th will also have their pictures taken. If you have questions please call the SCE office at 618-547-7696.


We are bowling this week at SCMS! Today the 6th grade will be bowling in the am, and 7th grade will be bowling in the pm. Tomorrow morning the 8th grade will will get their turn on the lanes at Salem Bowl!

Our 7th grade Lady Falcon basketball team will be playing for the Regional Championship Wednesday evening at 6pm in Albion! Good Luck Lady Falcons!!


Thanksgiving is getting close, but what has happened to all the turkeys? The 1st grade students have disguised the turkeys!!! We have some very creative students!






Mrs. Decker's 1st Grade class enjoyed celebrating Veterans Day!



Mrs. King’s 1st Grade Class celebrated Veterans Day with lots of fun activities, including letters to the soldiers!








Mrs. Brown's 4th grade students tried to make grain bins for Ag in the Class with Mrs. Meggan.
