We are so proud of all the elementary students, but especially the 2nd-5th graders who read for Accelerated Reader!!! Our students read books at their reading level , which is determined by the STAR tests we take 5 times a year. The students have a points goal and an accuracy goal to meet by the end of each quarter to participate in our Quarterly AR Rewards Day!
We had 139 out of 160 students meet their AR goals for this quarter! The students who met their goals got to attend a movie at the Salem Theatre and received popcorn, candy soda!
So far this school year, 2nd-5th grade students have read a total of 6,383 books. They have read a totally of 14,540,018 words just in AR books with year!!!! We can't wait to see how many books and words we will have read by the end of the school year!
