South Central Board News June 2025

  • The Board approved the monthly minutes, bills, and Treasurer’s report.

  • The Board approved an end of year deficit of just under $293k for all funds balances combined.

  • The Board approved slight changes to the Extra Curricular Handbook and Student/Parent Handbook for the upcoming school year.

  • The Board approved a 3 year IESA cooperative agreement with St. Peter school for middle school softball and baseball.

  • The Board heard an update from the superintendent on the electrical panel replacement project for South Central Middle School that is nearly complete with all panels complete throughout the building.

  • In personnel matters the board approved the following: a leave of absence for Doug Owens, hired Mandy Ruholl as HS secretary, hired Melissa Schilling as MS special ed. teacher, approved Amanda Wodtka as a paid HS assistant volleyball coach, approved Divo Noschese as a volunteer marching band assistant coach, and accepted the resignation of Jake Skibinksi as MS track coach.

  • The Board also re-employed the following paid non-employee coaches:

High School:

HS assistant girls softball - Jeremy Chasteen 

HS assistant cheerleading - Jordan Hails

HS assistant boys baseball - Spencer Johannes

HS boys baseball - Curt Jones

HS cheerleading - Kanady Markley

HS girls volleyball - Megan Murphree

Middle School:

5th/6th assistant basketball - Brock Adams

MS co-assistant girls softball - Jeremy Chasteen and Jeremy Dodson

MS boys basketball - Ean Fox

MS assistant boys basketball - Nathan Lotz

  • The Board approved officials pay for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

  • The Board approved the agreement with the South Central Support Staff for the 2025-2026, 2026-2027 school years.

  • The Board approved the salary sheet increases for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • The Board ratified 3 year contracts for the following administrative staff for the 2025-2026, 2026-2027, 2027-2028 school years- Michael Koehnke, Jake Skibinski, Brittney Kramer, Jamie VanScyoc. They also ratified a contract with Sara Rose as assistant superintendent for the 2025-2026 school year.
