Kinmundy Masonic Lodge #398 is bringing the “Bikes for Books” program to the South Central Elementary School!  This program promotes academic achievement by encouraging reading through a positive recognition reading program.

This year, the program is provided for Kindergarten and 1st grade students.  These students have worked hard all year to learn how to read.  These two grades do not participate in the Accelerated Reading program that 2nd-5th grade does throughout the year.  This program will give these students something special to encourage and celebrate reading!

Next week, April 15-19, when the students practice their reading skills during “Read to Self” time, their names will go into a drawing to win a new bike and helmet!  Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the Kinmundy Masonic Lodge #398, they are providing two bikes!  There will be a grand prize winner in Kindergarten and 1st grade!

The drawing will be at the end of the week. Once the bikes have been purchased, the winners will be presented with their bikes and helmets at an assembly later!  The South Central Elementary School is very grateful to the Kinmundy Masonic Lodge #398 for providing this opportunity to our students!
