This course discusses the history of the United States from the period of Reconstruction after the Civil War through today. I also try to keep the kids up to date with current events from all over the world. Throughout the year, I will use a variety of teaching methods. We will use the textbook, have class discussions, work cooperatively in groups, and complete a few projects.

My goal is to teach my students how to define their own roles as participating citizens by understanding how people, nations, actions, and interactions have all led to today’s realities.
