South Central CUSD 401 Board Actions for July 2021
The Board approved the minutes, bills, and treasurer’s report.
The Board approved bids from Stark’s Distributing, Kohl’s Wholesale, and Aunt Millie’s Bakeries for the 2021-2022 school year.
The Board approved a permanent transfer of funds from the Working Cash fund to the Education Fund to pay normal operating expenses.
The Board approved a Cooperative Agreement with Saint Peter Lutheran School to allow SPLS students to participate in Middle School Girls Softball and Middle School Boys Baseball for the 2021-2022, 2022-2023 school years.
The Board approved the first reading of the Press Policy updates from June 2021 from the Illinois Association of School Boards.
The Board approved the Return to Learn plan for the 2021-2022 school year. The current plan is subject to change and is a fluid document as conditions change. The district will closely monitor cases in the school district and work closely with local health departments in Marion and Fayette counties in conjunction with IDPH/ISBE guidelines as the school year progresses.
The Board approved receiving a per capita grant that was written by Julie Green for $850 for district students.
The Board approved keeping all closed session minutes closed for the time period of January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021. These minutes will remain closed to the public.
The Board accepted a letter of resignation from Lucretia Schroeder as a support staff member effective the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
The Board hired Baylee Black as a certified teacher to teach middle school ELA for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Board approved Travis Mulvaney to be the Head Middle School baseball coach for SCMS for the 2021-2022 school year.
The Board approved Ean Fox as a volunteer Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for SCMS for the 2021-2022 school year.
The Board approved changing the job classification for Jake Skibinski from certified teacher to certified administrator.
