Track today at Flora. 


Baseball Saturday,  April 19 at home as the Cougars host the SC Wooden Bat Tournament.  The Cougars will play at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Baseball Monday, April 21 at home with Vandalia.

Track Monday, April 21 at Red Hill.


The "Jack" Myers Scholarship is due today.  We have only two applicants thus far!


The softball team is taking orders for the neon yellow t-shirt that the girls team has been wearing.  If you would like to order one, see Mr. Kapper by next Tuesday.  Cost is $12 and must be paid before it can be ordered.  


The freshman class is raffling off a 5-6 foot tall peach tree.  Tickets are $1.  It will produce peaches next year, maybe even this year.  It would be a great gift for your parents for Easter.  Drawing is on the seventeenth, right before spring break.


Anyone boys basketball player who is interested in going to team camp should get there $50 deposit in to Coach Simmons as quickly as possible.


Art Club members there are two projects you can help with each day this week.  Come to the Art room after school.


Prom guest permission forms are due today!


Today is the last day to purchase prom tickets at $12.  They will be $15 next week.


Post prom permission forms are available in the office. Please take note – this is a 2 sided form! Forms are due back by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23.


We are looking for Freshman and Sophomore volunteers to serve at Prom. Please see Mrs. Brimberry. 


After school band rehearsals continue until the spring concert on May 13.


The choir will be practicing for the spring concert on Wednesday after school from 3:30 to 4:30.  We will practice this Wednesday, April 16 and then April 23, April 30, and May 7.  Please try to attend! These will be the only after school rehearsals before the spring concert.


The spring concert will be held at the high school on May 13.


Senior Favorites – please have your senior favorites picture to Mrs. Short today.


Juniors and their dates will practice the grand march during home room today.


Student Council will meet with Mr. Lapington during home room today.

The Easter bunny is coming! He will be at the middle school on Friday, April 18 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  There will be doughnuts, coffee, and milk.  Children can have their picture taken with the Easter bunny for $5.00.  There will also be a boys' and a girls' bike raffle.  Tickets are $1 each or $5 for 6.  The book fair will also be open.  All proceeds will go to the SCMS Sports Boosters. 

 There is no school tomorrow, April 18 and Monday, April 21.  Happy Easter!

Baseball Cougars Headed to Busch Stadium

On Sunday, June 1st, the South Central Baseball Cougars will be traveling to St. Louis to play the Mattoon Green Wave at Busch Stadium.  The game will be played immediately following the Cardinals 1:15 P.M. match up with the San Francisco Giants.  The Cougars and Green Wave will play as many innings as their 2 ˝ hour time slot will allow and all the fans will be permitted to move down to the field box seats during the game.

The Cougars are required to sell 800 tickets for the Cardinal game and they will go on sale immediately.  The $41.00 right field pavilion seats can be purchased from any high school baseball player or through the school office at $25.00 each.  Also, each ticket sold will receive a voucher for a free hot dog and soda.
